VIP cards for restaurants: benefits of their own for chosen customers and partners
Not every customer needs to be rewarded the same way. With a digital VIP card you give your best customers, a partner company's staff or a sports club's members benefits that others don't see.
The card is on the customer's phone. You can sell it for a one-off fee, give it free of charge or tie it to a subscription, and the benefits and messages for card holders are handled in the same Partner Hub as the rest of the loyalty program.
Who is a VIP or stakeholder card for?
Your best customers → a VIP card with, say, first access to events, a benefit of their own or free entry.
Partners → a benefit card for the staff of the company next door or a hotel's guests, which brings them to you.
Communities → benefits for the members of a sports club, student organisation or other group. The group markets your restaurant to its members for you.
Season card → a card valid for a set period, for example the terrace season or a festival week.
How is a card issued and used?
You issue the card in Partner Hub in a few clicks: sell it for a one-off fee, give it free or tie it to a subscription.
The card shows in the customer's Cluby app, and staff see at the till that it is valid.
Card holders can be given benefits and messages that other members don't see.
You see how many card holders use their benefits and how often.
How are VIP cards used in practice?
Samppalinna in Turku manages its VIP cards in Cluby alongside ticket sales and events.
“Issuing VIP cards takes just a few clicks in real time, and adding and marketing events takes only fifteen minutes.” – Jasmin Ouachem, Director of Restaurant Operations, Samppalinna
What do VIP cards cost the restaurant?
Card features are part of Cluby. Cluby is free for up to 100 members per restaurant, and after that pricing is based on member count, starting at €29 per month. You set the card prices for customers yourself.
Cluby is more than a VIP card
Cards are one part of the loyalty program.
The same app holds loyalty benefits, the stamp card, subscriptions, events and ticket sales, customer messaging and the customer register.
Frequently asked about VIP cards
Can I sell VIP cards?
Yes. A card can be sold for a one-off fee, tied to a subscription or given free of charge to chosen members.
Do other members see VIP benefits?
No. A benefit can be limited to holders of a given card, so others don't see it.
How is a stakeholder card given to a group's members?
You agree it with the group, and they join your loyalty program with a join link or QR code. You issue the card in Partner Hub to the members or the member group.
Are cards charged to the restaurant separately?
No. They are part of Cluby, which is free for up to 100 members. See the pricing plans.
